Huntsham Court, Devon

Putting a ring on it

As we would love the luxury of hanging out with all of you, we have hired Huntsham Court for the weekend and we hope you will join us for our wedding celebration.

We want you to be able to use this website to answer the questions you may have. If you think of something we haven't covered, then please let us know - you're probably not the only one thinking it!

What is Huntsham Court?

Huntsham Court is actually a private house which is rented out for events. It is NOT a hotel. So please don't expect room service, or a turn down service…. The rooms will be provided with towels, etc, but we would recommend you bring any toiletries you will require. Please think of it more as an amazing self-catering experience. We really recommend you visit the Huntsham website for more detail about the house. We love it, and we think you will too!

Where is it and how do I get there?

Huntsham Court is in a small village called Huntsham in Devon. So it is remote, there won't be any popping to the shops! It is in the countryside, so if you like a ramble, bring good shoes and you won't be disappointed.

Getting there - (International guests) The easiest thing is to fly to Heathrow, jump on the Elizabeth Line to Paddington Train Station and then get a train to Tiverton Parkway. Please be aware that the UK rail ticketing system is….quite different to most places, so do make sure your ticket works for when you are travelling and importantly when you are intending to return to London/departure airport.

On arrival at Tiverton Parkway, the easiest thing would be to get a taxi - links to recommend local taxi firms are on the Huntsham website under the “Attending an Event” link.

Driving - please see the Huntsham website for details. Please be aware that we have a limited number of places available for parking. We would recommend using public transport where possible, but please do let us know if you're intending to drive so we can be prepared.

What does the weekend look like?

Friday

Arrive from 5:30 pm. This evening is meant to be about relaxing, and getting to know other people. For us, it's about getting to catch up with you when we haven't been around much recently. We will be providing a buffet style dinner, a limited selection of drinks and board games. Relax, settle into your room and have a lovely chat with our other nearest and dearest.

Saturday

The big day!

If you're only arriving on the Saturday, you're welcome to arrive from 11am onwards.

Breakfast will be provided, and then you can have the morning to yourself. We are hoping to be able to make the most of the grounds with games (bring your tennis racket if you fancy a game).

Start gathering for some refreshments at 1pm.

Ceremony at 2:30 pm. Followed by photos, dinner(5pm) and dancing.

Sunday

Grab and go breakfast, before leaving by 10:30am

Is there a dress code?

Friday - Completely up to you what to wear.

Saturday - We would be grateful if guys could be in suits and ladies, use this as an opportunity to dress up!

Gifts?

If you would like to get a gift any of following would be great.

  1. Nothing. Minimum 3 hours dancing required at this tier.
  2. We have set up a relatively limited John Lewis wish list.
  3. If you're comfy with cash, contributions to the honeymoon would be lovely.

Anything else it would be good to know?

We will be providing food and a limited amount of drink for the weekend. However, given the self-catering nature of the house, it means you can bring things you would want. Have a breakfast cereal or brand of tea you simply cannot live without? Bring it! Bottle of red that you think is the best thing in the world? Bring it!

There is essentially no phone signal at the house, but there is WiFi. If you're expecting a call, please make the necessary arrangements.

We are planning (should the weather spirits be on our side) to have the ceremony in the garden, so factor this in when packing.
